Aspire offer a range of Programmes, Workshops and Coaching options for parents, families, existing parent groups and PTAs.
The Workshops can be delivered as stand alone or linked to form a programme.
All options are tailored to the needs of the group and offer the opportunity for parents and children to take the MTQ48 measure. Click on the titles below to find out more.
- Introduction to Mental Toughness

Full or half day workshops looking at what Mental Toughness is and how the MTQ48 and the development programme can help young people, parents and families. Ideal for parent groups, PTAs and the parents of children who are going to be involved in a Mental Toughness programme.
This workshop can be adapted to suit small or large groups. It may be incorporated into a family coaching programme.

A full day workshop covering key areas of ‘helping’ which may create challenges for parents.

• Relationships with peers
• Relationships with teachers/other adultsThis workshop introduces and explores skills and strategies which will help parents to deal with their own stressors and pressures and to give more effective support to children/young people of school age.
The How to Help workshop can be adapted to suit small or large groups. It may be incorporated into a family coaching programme.
- Talking to Teenagers

A highly focused full or half day workshop which introduces and explores skills and strategies to help parents improve communication with teenagers and create greater flexibility in dealing with family challenges.
This workshop can be adapted to suit small or large groups. It may be incorporated into a family coaching programme.
- Transition without Trauma for Families
-
There are times of transition in all families. The move from Primary to Secondary, school to sixth-form college or into further education can be a time of family challenge. Moving home and/or school, separation or divorce, adjusting to living with a step family; these may all be difficult periods.
Aspire offer support for families in transition. This includes:
- A full day workshop for parents of young people in transition between institutions/Key stages: Parents are introduced to skills and strategies to help them cope with their own challenges and give more effective support to their children. Includes the option to take the MTQ48.
- Mental Toughness for Parents Workshop: All participants complete the MTQ48 measure beforehand and will have their Development Report. The workshop gives parents the chance to discuss and explore their report and to learn practical ways to develop greater mental toughness in the context of the particular challenges they face. These in depth workshops are designed for small groups (maximum of 16), in order to provide a high level of individual support.
- Mental Toughness for Parents Programme: This programme uses the MTQ48 measure, Mental Toughness training and supportive coaching to help parents to cope more effectively with personal transition and to help other family members with their challenges. Programmes can be designed and delivered to small groups or for couples or individuals.
